STORY: Thirty-five-year-old window cleaner John
(James Norton) has dedicated his life to bringing up his son, after the
child's mother left them soon after giving birth.
“Where is my mummy?” asks a four-year-old boy during one of many heart-breaking scenes in the new drama Nowhere Special.
James Norton, the entertainer who did as such very much Arranged in McMafia on TV that he promptly went to the first spot on the list to succeed Daniel Craig as James Bond looks totally changed here, and it took me a while putting him.

Written and directed by The Full Monty producer Uberto Pasolini, inspired by a newspaper article, the movie follows John as he attempts to find the perfect “normal family” to adopt Michael after he’s gone.
Nowhere Special Review
At the beginning of the film, time is running out for John, whose ex left when Michael was a child. He has no family and hence works with social laborers to talk with future parents.
Fortunately for us, Norton is an entertainer with enough data transfer capacity to pass on those feelings from underneath John's outside shell.
Norton perfectly plays a man who perceives his only achievement in life as his son.
It is a dark, well-played drama that seeks its own hurt with increasing sharpness and anguish.
It comes from Belgian director and co-writer Joachim Lafosse who is shaped like a playwright from poisoned marriages with After Love from 2016 and before Our Children from 2012, which like The Restless addresses the complicated role of drugs in the portfolio of personal misfortune.
